David v Goliath
As the story goes, two armies stood ready for battle, a valley separating the combat units, each of which stood ready on a mountain. Goliath, the champion of the world’s largest army was over nine feet tall, wearing armor and carrying a huge spear. He was a scary son of a bitch.
Every day he lumbered down the mountain toward the smaller army challenging it to send a warrior to fight him in a single battle, to decide who gets to eat and who gets to starve.
A boy named David accepted the challenge, stepping out to face Goliath armed with only his staff, a sling, and five smooth stones.
Goliath rushed toward David, anger burning in his eyes. At that moment, David used his sling to hurl a stone at his opponent. The stone struck Goliath in his forehead, and the Giant fell face-down into the dirt, stoned, dead.
The 400,000 Owner Operator trucking companies (1-3 units) are a small army. Each owner operator, armed with the right tools, can feel confident as he stands strong to face the giant.
This is not only a battle for survival, but also one of tens of thousands of battles taking place daily in the world of logistics. Your battles are not fought with slings and stones. But they are waged against giants. To win your battles, daily, you must have the proper tools. To win the war, most owner operators should be prepared to fight as a cohesive unit, moving in unison.
It is my goal to outfit every small trucking company with the proper tools to win today’s battle. A battle to feed one’s family, to pay one’s bills and to have a little left over for the future.
But the war… the war is for a seat at the big boy’s table, where the utensils are forged of silver, the plates are finished in gold, and the food nourishes both mind and body.
Attend a seminar near you ASAP. The seminar will pay for itself within a week. More importantly, these gatherings will begin the process of building a cohesive unit. A unit where owner operators no longer fight one another but work together. Victory!
Our Mission
We will provide the owner operator with the tools necessary to compete professionally his chosen vocation of trucking. The little things, often neglected, will be reenforced along with the reason they are important. Best business practices will be shared through a motivational seminar presented with passion and enthusiasm.

Steve’s Bio
Age: 64
Married for 41 years. Three children, four grandchildren. I’ve been coaching recreational basketball for thirty years. My wife and I have lived in the same house in Columbus, NJ for 32 years.
I have a Real Estate license that I earned to help family and friends when selling or buying property.
I’m a college drop-out. I have little respect for authority, but deep respect for self-instruction. I desire to understand businesses that bring me a sense of energy. A desire to learn as much as possible.
I have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy working in environments that need correction.
I love to build. Not houses, companies. I find no greater satisfaction than getting involved in a new venture, working it from the bottom up and building a company around the lessons learned.
To that end I’ve started a telemarketing company, an anti-telemarketing company, a magazine, a digital sales company, a distribution company, a dispatch company, and a freight brokerage.
I’ve had hundreds of conversations with Owner Operators. I’ve procured their freight and dispatched their trucks. I’ve hired and trained dispatchers. I’ve negotiated contracts with shippers and have negotiated rates with freight brokers. I’ve worked with software developers who have turned my ideas into websites and apps.
Through all I’ve done within the trucking environment I’ve learned one thing that stands above all others, the trucker is the least regarded cog in a chain of logistics that can be unforgiving at times.
It is my purpose to change the perception of the trucker in the eyes of those that make a living on his/her back while at the same time give the trucker the tools necessary to increase his/her value.
A Story of Growth
Undeterred, our founder Steve started a telemarketing company, securing a contract with The Star-Ledger—the same company that had dismissed us. Over a decade, our company grew to ten contracts, six offices, and 100 employees, with revenues surpassing $2.5 million and a profit margin over 30%.
Diverse Ventures
We then explored various ventures, including online media, a magazine, a dispatch company, and freight brokerage, culminating in the creation of Trucking Smart, LLC. This extensive experience fuels our dedication to supporting and advancing the trucking industry.
